Celebrating Sam's 10-year anniversary at Island Optics

This week, we proudly celebrated a fantastic milestone at Island Optics: Sam’s 10-year anniversary with the company.

Sam joined us on 30th November 2015, arriving as a fresh-faced 21-year-old eager to learn the craft. Over the past decade, he has developed into a skilled Senior Optical Technician, playing a key role in the quality and consistency of our production processes.

He has also become our unintentional IT specialist when it comes to our metrology software, thanks to his natural knack for computers – something that’s been especially helpful during our recent machine relocations (more on this to follow in the coming days!).

On Monday morning, Gary Snr, our Managing Director, presented Sam with a few tokens of appreciation – his favourite tipple and a £100 Amazon gift voucher – as a small thank you for his hard work, loyalty, and contribution to Island Optics over the past decade.

Congratulations, Sam, on reaching this milestone. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to the team – here’s to many more years ahead! 👏
